Welcoming Professor Jianhua Mei to the Council


As research director, I am very pleased to announce that Professor Jianhua Mei has joined us as a member of the science and philosophy advisory council. - Dr Bruce Long.

Born in Hunan, Xiangxi Longshan, and hailing from Zigui, Hubei province, Jianhua is our second Chinese speaking specialist. A lecturer in foreign philosophy, Jianhua has a Ph.D. in philosophy from Peking University (in analytical philosophy and comparative philosophy). His research interests include philosophy of mind, philosophy of language, and XPhi or experimental philosophy. He also has a background in metaphysics, moral psychology, pre-Qin philosophy, and ritual studies.

Recent research focuses on: experimental semantics, physicalism, and free will.
