I am very pleased to welcome our first postgraduate council member. IIMx has a commitment to helping to develop researchers who are at early stages of their careers, and we have a commitment to education about the philosophy of information. Garrett has a solid publishing record and is a worthy addition to our council ranks.

Bio:

Garrett Mindt is a doctoral candidate at Central European University (CEU) in Budapest, Hungary. His current research focuses on the philosophy of mind, specifically on the philosophy of consciousness and information. His current work is on Integrated Information Theory (IIT) of Consciousness and whether the theory provides an explanation of phenomenal experience that tackles traditionally philosophical problems, such as the hard problem of consciousness. He also maintains an active research interest in philosophy of neuroscience and philosophy of artificial intelligence.
